Shiba Inu’s (SHIB) Metaverse developers have blacklisted a user’s wallet, according to a statement posted by the team late Tuesday. The reason behind blacklisting the user is believed to be because the user had drawn a swastika using the project’s Metaverse land.

The team at Shiba Inu wrote, “SHIB: The Metaverse will place the wallet identifying the [hate symbol] violation on a blacklist, meaning it will never be able to participate in any and all areas of the platform.”

It all started with the launch of the Shiba Inu Metaverse land sale that launched on April 12. Approximately 36,000 of the total 100,000 plots of land that were up for grabs went on sale. Fans of Shiba Inu and crypto enthusiasts who locked the ecosystem’s native token, LEASH, and Shiboshi non-fungible tokens were able to bid on square plots of land in the metaverse.

The plot of land would turn from gray to black on the map when a user placed a bid on the piece of land.

Members of the Shiba Inu Discord community noticed on April 15 that one user was bidding on pieces of land that, together, formed a swastika. Following the discovery, the community responded by purchasing plots of land around the symbol to change the shape to a “window”.

The developer team blacklisted the wallet that was linked to the original bids and also posted the project’s guidelines on Twitter on April 19. The community seems to be in agreement with the team’s decision to blacklist the wallet.
