Disney has officially announced the names of the six companies that will be joining its 2022 Disney Accelerator program. Reportedly, this is Disney’s business development initiative designed to accelerate the growth of innovative companies from around the world. The course is set to start this week.
According to the information provided on Disney’s site, this year’s Disney Accelerator class is focused on building the future of immersive experiences and specializes in technologies such as augmented reality (AR), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and artificial intelligence (AI) characters.
Taking to Twitter with positive comments and detailed information about the program, Twitterati was the first to appreciate Disney’s foray into the Web3 space.

Notably, the companies selected for this year’s 2022 Disney Accelerator program include Flickplay, Inworld, Lockerverse, Obsess, Polygon, and Red 6.
Expressing their joy on Twitter, Polygon wrote: “We’re excited to be the only blockchain chosen to be a part of the Disney Accelerator program.” Thrilled about the opportunity, Pierina Merino of Flickplay said, “Our vision to bridge the digital and physical world has never felt more real.” InWorld AI also shared their excitement through a Twitter post.

Disney also states that over the course of the program, each participant company will receive guidance from Disney’s senior leadership team, as well as a dedicated executive mentor.
