Cryptotourism: Binance Pushes Crypto as a Global Currency by Hiding BNB Treasure

Cryptotourism is now a thing. Well, it will be if Binance has anything to do with it. A new marketing push by the cryptocurrency exchange will see Binance giving away $50,000 in prizes. The catch is that enthusiasts have to find it in a scavenger hunt.

Binance is pushing their first-ever crypto-sponsored vacation in an attempt to show enthusiasts that using crypto to travel is more efficient than using fiat.

Binance has hired two travel influencers to help them push the idea, Lauren Bullen and Jack Morris. These influencers are based in Bali. The social media giants (with more than 2 million followers each) are so perfect it is almost dangerous for your soul to look at them directly. It’s like if the bull market were people, it would be them.

Binance hopes that these two starkly perfect influencers will convince people to give up traditional currency and make their way around the world using only cryptocurrencies.

Cryptotourism will be a thing

James Rothwell is the Global Vice President of Marketing at Binance. “Cryptotourism makes global travel easier and more secure for everyone. It’s also an economical choice, since there are zero fees, full transaction transparency and no country-by-country exchange rate issues. The ease of using crypto while traveling is a testament to the incredible mainstream global adoption we are starting to see.”

Binance Pay positions itself as a contactless and borderless payment technology. Lauren and Jack will now be required to create content using crypto for travel in a borderless way. The Barbie and Ken Dolls of influencing will show that cryptotourism is now a thing. Or should be.

Lauren and Jack will book their usual travel routes, except pay with crypto. They will also pay for services and all their physical items using crypto, via Binance Pay.

It’s hard to not want the perfect giraffe to sneeze on the perfect breakfast.

Jack said, “I have dedicated my life to travel, and now to do so without having to worry about exchange rates or carrying physical cash is a burden lifted. People think global travel needs to be super expensive and complicated – it doesn’t. And we want to show people that crypto travel makes it even easier.”

Scavenger Hunt

Lauren and Jack will separately hide a Binance Gift Card in a secret place. Each of these cards is worth $25,000 in BNB. People who follow the influencers can work out the location of these cards using clues dropped by Jack and Lauren on their profiles.

Once the prizes have been found, new Binance accounts will be activated if the winners don’t already have an account with the platform. Then $25,000 in BNB will be transferred into the wallets of the two winners.

Binance said that the travel industry has been hit hard after the pandemic. Market volatility and geopolitical conflict is also affecting the industry. “Between travel restrictions, airline cancellations and big crowds, travel has felt anything but easy. The campaign will demonstrate that crypto-backed travel is not only a reality, but a more convenient way to explore the world.”

Lauren said, “I love venturing into new territory, and crypto travel is exactly that. This is just the beginning of a whole new amazing world for people who love to travel.”

We kind of hope that perfect dog sneezes on the perfect furniture too.

I really hope the next influencers Binance choose are crypto bros and NFT chicks. Digital-asset nerds like holidays too, okay?
