As an emerging crypto hub in the region, Dubai brings together the world’s largest NFT and metaverse events. Prominent names and figures in the metaverse and NFT space participated in this gathering.
CoinQuora had the privilege of becoming a media partner of Superverse, where we had the opportunity to interview Ivan Liljeqvist of Moralis. We asked him about the project he is currently working on and his thoughts on NFTs and the metaverse.
Ivan Liljeqvist is the Co-Founder and CEO of Moralis, a leading web3 development platform that allows users to create, host, and grow decentralized applications (Dapps). It is the quickest method to create and deploy Dapps on Elrond, Ethereum, BSC, Solana, and Polygon, to name a few.
Q. You’ve been very busy lately. Can you tell us the current project you are working on and how it benefits the users who will experience it?
Ivan: Hi, we’ve recently built and launched Moralis, which is a web3 development platform that provides the infrastructure for developers to build and launch Dapps, games and NFTs cross-chain. With Moralis, developers can create, host and grow Dapps all in one place. We are also bridging the gap between web2 and web3 for developers around the world.
Q. You mentioned Moralis. Are there any other future developments that the crypto community should watch out for or look forward to?
Ivan: We have a lot of new features that we believe are going to excite the crypto community, such as gasless transactions and minting through peer-to-peer trading between different players in-game. We are also continuously developing our blockchain technology to provide and support more chains, which means we have a very long and detailed roadmap.
Q. There has been so much craze nowadays about NFT and metaverse, what can you say about this?
Ivan: It’s an interesting topic, for sure, and there’s a lot of hype just around the term “metaverse”. I believe the potential of the metaverse is limitless but predicting how it will play out over the next few years is not easy. Some people seem to think it’s all overblown hype, but we are already seeing Big Tech make its moves — Facebook rebranding to Meta, Microsoft purchasing Activision Blizzard — and many of these companies are basing their long-term strategies around the metaverse.
All the while, VCs continue to pour more and more money into metaverse projects. For better or worse, Big Tech has been at the forefront of the most important technological innovations, especially during the mobile phase of the internet, for the last 10, 15, 20 years. They also happen to be the companies now investing the most money in the metaverse. So, I think it’s fair to say that the market is only trending in one direction. However, as I said, it’s also very early days yet.
Q. That has been a very interesting conversation, but before we go, how can all interested investors around the world get in touch with you?
Ivan: The best way to get in touch with me is to follow me on Twitter or YouTube, whatever channel you prefer, at Ivan on Tech.
