  • Samson Mow leaves Blockstream after 5 years of service.
  • Now, Mow is aiming at furthering the nation-state adoption of Bitcoin.
  • Mow said “Mexico is on the list.”

Samson Mow, Chief Strategy Officer at Blockstream, announced his departure from the Bitcoin infrastructure company after 5 years of service. Moving forward, Mow wants to focus on the nation-state adoption of Bitcoin – notably Mexico. Mow specifically mentioned Adam Back in his tweet, stating their accomplishments in sidechains, mining, and satellites.

In Mow’s recent tweets since early 2022, he’s teased his followers with interactions with notable personalities from Mexico. For example, last month, Mow had a Twitter exchange with Mexico’s third-richest man Ricardo Salinas Pliego about Bitcoin mining. Similarly, the month before, Mow also tweeted a photo alongside Mexico Senator Indira Kempis.

Additionally, Pliego responded to Mow’s departure tweet bidding him good luck for the change, to which Mow responded cryptically with, “Thanks and see you soon!” Furthermore, the interaction was screenshotted by a follower which Mow himself retweeted.

Similarly, Kempis also responded to Mow’s departure tweet with simple emojis. Mow responded, again cryptically, with “¡Tenemos mucho trabajo por hacer” (We have a lot of work to do).

In correspondence with Forbes, Mow claimed that Bitcoin adoption in countries will be inevitable.

I’m working with people from a number of countries and it’s still too early to say for sure but Bitcoin adoption in some form will be inevitable,

Mow, in his departure tweet, stated El Salvador as a key reason for his newfound drive. “With everything happening at light speed in El Salvador, and more and more countries interested in adopting #Bitcoin, I found my time each day just no longer enough anymore,” Mow tweeted.
