  • Hours ago today, the country declared its airdrop plan for crypto donors.
  • BTC donations have been surging since the Russian attack.

Ukraine’s government received more than $7 million in crypto, as the country declared airdrop to donors who have contributed cryptos to its wallets. Earlier today, Ukraine announced that they would do an airdrop to all the donors. Later, through an official Twitter post, Ukraine declared that the airdrop was confirmed.

The $7 million can be split to $1.1 million in ETH, $6 million in DOT, and the remaining among a few other cryptos. All these make a total of over $40 million in crypto. Prior to the declaration, over $33 million in crypto was donated to the nation.

On February 26, the government had asked people all over the world to unite with the citizens  and opened the gates for cryptocurrency donations.

Ukraine’s airdrop marks the first of its kind for crypto donors. Generally, in the case of crypto airdrops, it includes the free sending of tokens to people as an incentive. But Ukraine has not yet confirmed what was included in its airdrop. However, no tax will be imposed on seized Russian equipment.

Besides all these, the Defense Ministry of Ukraine has offered Russian troops amnesty and money, if they surrender.

Since the turmoil started in Ukraine, Bitcoin donations have been coming in, with a huge number of BTCs donated to NGOs and the government. As crypto donations rise, more people are joining hands in fundraising.
