FTX, AZA Finance to Drive Widespread Web3 Adoption Across Africa

On March 16, FTX announced its partnership with AZA Finance to expand Web3 and digital currencies adoption throughout Africa. Both companies will work together to connect the Web3 economy with the continent’s growth.

According to the announcement, FTX and AZA Finance will expand Web3 in the content in five key ways:

  1. Both companies aim to connect African markets to the global Web3 economy by building vital infrastructure.
  2. Both companies aim to create pathways for African users to participate and learn about the Web3 economy. These pathways include educational resources & networking opportunities.
  3. Both companies aim to make it easier to deposit and payout in African currencies on FTX.com. This includes mobile money and local bank account integrations.
  4. Both companies aim to launch African currency and digital currency trading pairs.
  5. Finally, both companies aim to onboard African NFTs and artists to the FTX NFT marketplace.

AZA Finance CEO and Founder Elizabeth Rossielo shared the company’s thrill to be working with FTX. Rossielo praised Sam Bankman-Fried’s leadership and commitment to the ethical expansion within Web3. Additionally, Rossielo claimed that the creators and builders for the Web3 economy are “undoubtedly African.”

Similarly, FTX CEO and Founder Sam Bankman-Fried also shared FTX’s excitement to partner with AZA Finance. Bankman-Friend said that FTX chose to partner with [Rossielo] and her team because of the incredible work they’ve done in Africa. “We look forward to working closely with them, and the local regulatory bodies, to bring all of our products and services to the African market in a compliant way,” Bankman-Fried added.

Additionally, Bankman-Fried mentioned looking forward to supporting local artists and creators in the community.
