  • UMG has purchased another BAYC NFT.
  • Bored Ape #5537, unveiled as Manager Noët All, will manage the metaverse music group KINGSHIP.
  • The website and discord channel for the music group has also been launched.

Universal Music Group (UMG) revealed their latest Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) purchase. The ape is to be the manager of their KINGSHIP group.

The Ape That Would Lead KINGSHIP

Yesterday, UMG revealed that they had purchased a new BAYC NFT. Bored Ape #5537 is the latest addition to the music label’s metaverse band KINGSHIP under their metaverse label 10:22PM. The ape was unveiled on the group’s official Twitter handle as “Manager Noët All” and is expected to manage the group.

“Meet Manager Noët All, the new ape-in-charge leading KINGSHIP to greatness. She & the band have been busy working on top-secret schemes. If there’s one thing she learned back in her BAYC clubhouse days, it’s that good things come to those who wait.”

Manager Noët All is described as a crypto millionaire who can speak different languages. The character is said to have no experience managing a music group but is relying on knowledge gleaned from music documentaries eager to face the challenge.

The announcement also follows the launch of the group’s website and discord channel. KINGSHIP expects that the website and discord platform will help grow the community and keep them informed on the latest happenings in the KINGSHIP universe. UMG has been very active in the NFT space lately, announcing two partnerships already, one with NFT marketplace Curio in February and another with Billboard and Flow blockchain early this month.

KINGSHIP was unveiled by label 10:22PM in November last year. KINGSHIP comprised 3 Bored Apes and a Mutant Ape. The latest addition, Manager Noët All, was purchased for 125 ETH or $367,746.25, according to data from Etherscan.

BAYC in November last year hosted the “Ape Fest,” a music concert in New York for verified holders of BAYC and MAYC NFTs. The event had performances from stars like Lil Baby, The Strokes, Aziz Ansari, etc. It was a week after this event that KINGSHIP was unveiled.

In an interesting coincidence, on the day KINGSHIP was announced, famous music producer Timbaland also revealed that he was launching an entertainment brand on the metaverse called “Ape-In Productions.” Ape-In Productions is expected to promote Bored Apes as artists in the metaverse.

BAYC has become the go-to NFT collection for celebrities and music stars. Artists like Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Takeoff are amongst the stars known to be club members. However, BAYC creators Yuga Labs do not appear to be resting on their oars. The company recently purchased the IP for CryptoPunks and Meebits and launched a governing token for the ecosystem called ApeCoin.
