Drake, in partnership with Stake, pledged to donate $1M in Bitcoin to the LeBron James Foundation. The donation stems from Drake’s most recent roulette winnings on Stake – his “biggest hit ever”. Additionally, Drake provided a high school basketball player named Michael, and his mother with $100,000 on the same night.

The rapper recorded his plan and subsequent encounter with LeBron and Michael and posted it on his Instagram account. Both donations were made on the same spot, at Harbour 60 restaurant in Toronto, Canada.

“As you can see, I was clearly excited. Any time I get blessed like that, I always think it’s luck that needs to be transferred, or it’s good karma that needs to be transferred,” Drake said about donating his wins. “I play for fun and I play in the hope that I can spread love, always.”

Stake Co-Founder Ed Craven said that Stake.com has always been about community. “That extends beyond our players to the wider public too, especially those who will benefit the most from acts of generosity and love like that shown by Drake.”

The donation took place when LeBron arrived in Canada for a Los Angeles Lakers game against the Toronto Raptors on March 19. The Lakers won the game in overtime 128-123. LeBron finished with 36 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists.

In a courtside interview, LeBron spoke about his tight-knit friendship with the rapper Drake.

Drake’s partnership with Stake.com – a Bitcoin casino and sports betting platform – was first announced on March 4 this year. The rapper was already a regular user of the platform, posting his wagers and winnings on social media.

The rapper has reportedly wagered over $1B ever since joining the website in late 2021 under the username “DeepPockets6”.

Furthermore, this isn’t LeBron James’ first dip into the cryptocurrency space. On March 10, LeBron applied four trademark applications related to his name for metaverse and NFTs. Additionally, on January 28, Crypto.com partnered with the LeBron James Foundation to introduce Web3 education to its programs.
