Amazon recently announced its newest online role-playing metaverse game. Named AWS Cloud Quest: Cloud Practitioner, the game aims to help train players in developing cloud computing skills.
Within Amazon’s metaverse game, players can create their own avatar and interact with non-player characters (NPC) within a virtual world. These NPCs will ask the player for help regarding problems related to cloud computing. Upon successfully completing the requests, players will receive points that they will need to upgrade their avatar.
As for the points, Amazon did not disclose any future plans, keeping the crypto community guessing whether it will possibly become a crypto asset someday. For now, any additional use case of the points, as well as potential market value, have been ruled out.
Aside from providing an opportunity for players to enhance their skills, Amazon is also aiming to introduce its services in a more interactive manner. In addition, Amazon has launched other cloud-training services as well as certifications to help employees advance their careers.
Leading companies across various sectors are creating their own respective virtual worlds, although the ones currently at the top are Decentraland, The Sandbox, and Roblox. Recently, banking giants HSBC and JP Morgan set up their virtual offices by purchasing their own lot in The Sandbox and Decentraland, respectively.
