The post further revealed that Roche Freedman and Kyle Roche have an agreement to provide Ava Labs with legal services in exchange for the AVAX tokens and Ava Labs equity.
Ava Labs CEO, Emin Gün Sirer, has denounced allegations from CryptoLeaks, accusing his company of using litigation to deceive regulators and harm competitors. Sirer has denied any knowledge of or involvement in such a thing, labeling it as “conspiracy theory nonsense.”
A blog post from CryptoLeaks alleged that Ava Labs, the company that develops and promotes the Avalanche blockchain, had a “secret pact” with US law firm Roche Freedman to attack competitors in a “gangster style,” in exchange for AVAX tokens and equity.
The post further revealed that Roche Freedman and Kyle Roche have an agreement to provide Ava Labs with legal services in exchange for the AVAX tokens and Ava Labs equity. The firm, according to the post, also used “litigation as a tool” to suppress competitors and mislead regulators like the Security Exchange Commission (SEC) and Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
On August 26, CryptoLeaks released a series of open videos from an unidentified source that appeared to show US Attorney Kyle Roche of Roche Freedman LLP discussing his collaboration and friendship with Emin Gün Sirer and Kevin Sekniqi, the respective CEO and COO of Ava Labs.
The blog post also stated that, according to the said videos, Roche and Sirer seemed to share a close friendship that had its roots in academics, with the duo moving into a co-working space in August 2019, right before the agreement was signed for him to give legal services in exchange for token supply.
“Gün Sirer, we made a deal, where I agreed to provide legal services in exchange for a certain percentage of the token supply,” Roche allegedly stated in the video.
Another video also allegedly shows Roche saying that they “used litigation services as a strategic instrument to support Ava Labs.”
“I sue half the companies in this space. I know where this market is going. I believe [I am] one of the top 10 crypto experts in this world. I’ve seen the insides of every single crypto company,” according to the video.
In another video, Sirer was seen allegedly professing his support for other blockchain projects, including Solana, offering support for Solana users when they were having their wallets emptied by the Slope wallet exploit. All those claims, according to the post, have proved to be wrong.
Emin Gün Sirer, after the videos were published, took to Twitter to deny any involvement, stating:
“How could anyone believe something so ridiculous as the conspiracy theory nonsense on Cryptoleaks? We would never engage in the unlawful, unethical and just plain wrong behavior claimed in these self-serving videos and inflammatory articles. Our tech & team speak for themselves.”
