The Avaissance Initiative by Avalanche Foundation
The Avalanche Foundation has launched Avaissance, an initiative designed to support emerging digital artists and drive growth in the Avalanche NFT ecosystem. Avaissance comprises two main components aimed at fostering creativity and expanding the digital art landscape on Avalanche.
Artist in Residence Program (AIR)
From now until April 28, artists working in any digital medium can apply for the Artist in Residence (AIR) program. The residency, which will be conducted digitally, welcomes applications globally (with a few exceptions). The first group of 50+ artists selected for the program will be announced in May.
- Accepted artists will receive substantial funding and mentorship.
- They will have access to virtual workshops and one-on-one mentorship.
- Participants will benefit from educational sessions aimed at enhancing their careers.
- Topics covered in the workshops include marketing strategies and digital tools.
- AIR artists will have networking opportunities within the Avalanche ecosystem.
- Each artist will release a collection of work on Avalanche.
Mona Lisa Initiative (MLI)
The Mona Lisa Initiative (MLI) is the second pillar of Avaissance, focusing on digital art curation and collaboration. The Avalanche Foundation will collaborate with DAOs to curate and expand digital art collections on Avalanche.
- Avalanche Foundation will gift NFTs to art-focused DAOs participating in the MLI.
- DAOs will prioritize collecting and showcasing work from up-and-coming Avalanche NFT artists.
- The initiative aims to establish an Avalanche Permanent Collection through curated efforts.
Avaissance marks a significant step in advancing Avalanche’s NFT ecosystem, leveraging its speed, reliability, and low fees to empower digital artists worldwide.
