This contract represents Binance’s second collaboration this year with a soccer player. It is “an exclusive, multi-year NFT partnership,” Binance noted in its press release. Binance hopes to launch a global promotion to introduce Ronaldo’s fans to Web3 with a compelling entry point into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Through the length of the contract, Binance and Ronaldo will create a series of NFT collections for sale exclusively on the Binance NFT page. The first NFT collection will come out later in the year.
Four months ago, Binance NFT and Toni Kroos jointly launched the “Iceman Collection.” Toni Kroos is a German national footballer who currently plays for Real Madrid. His first ever NFT collection is inspired by different elements from his career, such as his goal highlight, nickname, and jersey number.
Notable also is the recent Binance NFT collaboration with a London-based Nigerian musician-artist, Nissi Ogulu, which saw the launch of the Jigsaw Tribe. The collection features unique pieces exploring the musical heritage of Africa through ancient yet animated instruments. The Jigsaw Tribe explores the different facets of life represented as a puzzle piece.
