A Glimpse of Charles Hoskinson’s Cardano Community Event

Charles Hoskinson speaks to 1,800 attendees at the Cardano Community Event held in Texas. The event was overwhelming for Hoskinson, as he stated that his first bitcoin event had only three people.

Hoskinson said that Cardano started as a basic idea. He stated that Cardano was a 2015 pipe dream that evolved into an army of engineers, marketers, scientists, and business professionals.

He continued his speech about different projects that utilize the Cardano blockchain. He spoke about World Mobile, which is envisioned to provide a democratized and decentralized internet.

No more monopolies anymore, no more kings, no more power brokers, evil CEOs. All these things go away and they’re doing it.

Hoskinson addressed that this event was conducted to bring everyone together for the largest event, the Consensus. He stated that this event will help bring everyone who’s building on Cardano together and claimed that they’re not going anywhere.

He also stated that 50% of all the changes in the Vasil hard fork are from the contributions and inputs of the community. Hoskinson reminded everyone that this event is also to remind people that decentralization matters. He stressed that it is not about high yields, but rather about changing the world.

Hoskinson highlighted that Cardano is a spiritual successor of Bitcoin. It follows the same principles of a leaderless and decentralized nature. He said that in the coming months, the Cardano team is going to create a decentralization index at Edinburgh University. He also stated that more developments are going to happen in the coming 12 months than what happened in the last 14 years.
