By far, the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs are some of the most acclaimed collectibles in the market today.
In what is tagged as the first of its kind move, the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collection has been transformed into a machine-made art with the help of Google’s Artificial Intelligence (AI). This recreation proves that whatever human ingenuity can build, there is a high level of certainty that technology can recreate it.
The BAYC recreated collection was dubbed Antsy Monke, and comes off as a design born out of years of “advancements in AI and image diffusion techniques, using Google’s collaborative Notebook platform Colab, and combining it with their powerful Cloud Computing service.”
The recreated image was built using a combination of BAYC reference images and descriptive text. For these pieces to be created, they were fed to the AI as “a loose canvas within which to frame the generative art,” said CryptoGrims, the project’s in-house AI artist.
“We were able to take all ten thousand Bored Ape NFT images, and feed those into the machine as a loose canvas within which to frame the generative art. The end product was mind blowing,” said CryptoGrims. “After that, it was a matter of teaching the machine to paint in the twenty different art styles we shortlisted, and then running multiple servers for several weeks to get the results we wanted.”
While the AI-generated art typically looks like a monkies, they are branded with a lot of defined scenes including stormy oceans, Viking ship scenes, and moody neon city landscapes amongst others. Despite these striking features, a very closer look at the NFTs will show that they bear a very unique similarity to the Bored Ape NFTs.
Bored Ape Demand Injected into Antsy Monke
By far, the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs are some of the most acclaimed collectibles in the market today. Thanks to the utility and unique branding style introduced by Yuga Labs, the startup behind the project, they are some of the most sought-after NFT collections in the world today.
The massive demand for the Bored Ape NFTs has also trickled down to the Antsy Monke version which launched on the OpenSea NFT marketplace. The 10,000 unique artworks have already been sold out, thanks in part to its relatively cheap listing cost of 0.001 ETH ($1.40) as compared to the 85 ETH floor price for the BAYC collection.
Just like the Bored Ape ecosystem which floated the Otherside metaverse project which was ushered in with the sales of Otherdeeds, the team behind the Antsy Monke project also plans to launch a metaverse theme park dubbed Antsy Monkeland. This metaverse project will enable Artsy Monke NFT holders to participate in Play to Earn (P2E) video games.
“Having being in the NFT space since early 2021, we always knew that we needed more than just a great looking NFT. This is why we also designed it as a utility token. We wanted Artsy Monke to be pieces of art that you could hang on your wall, but also, by using Web3 technology, we can also let holders access the Artsy Monke games and earn real money. The more Monke NFT you hold, the more games you can play and the more money you can earn,” the press release reads.
