Crypto Com Australia

The digital asset platform CryptoCom inked a five-year collaboration with the AFL to become a financial backer of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season and the NAB AFL Women’s championship. The trading venue will also feature as the exclusive naming rights partner of the tournaments and the Final Series matches.

CryptoCom Expands in Australia

According to a document seen by CryptoPotato, the AFL became the first Australian sports league to partner with CryptoCom. At the same time, the AFLW is the first elite women’s sports competition, which the platform has sponsored worldwide.

According to recent estimations, Australian female investors are much more engaged in the cryptocurrency space compared to other countries. Karl Mohan – CryptoCom General Manager for the region of Asia & Pacific – said the development would resonate with the trends in the country:

“Our latest consumer research in Australia found that more than half (53%) of crypto investors were females. It is very encouraging to see that Australians from all walks of life, irrespective of gender or background, are very keen to adopt cryptocurrencies, and we’re excited about being their go-to platform.”

Australian football, known as Australian rules football, is by far the most popular sport on the continent. Gillon McLachlan – Chief Executive Officer at the AFL – opined the partnership with CryptoCom marked an exciting new chapter for the local sports industry:

“Cryptocurrency and blockchain technology is a dynamic and emerging industry, and the AFL is delighted to partner with Crypto.com to be at the forefront of the industry’s growth in Australia.”

The document did not disclose how much the cryptocurrency exchange has invested in the sponsorship deal.

CryptoCom’s Previous Sports Forays

The Singapore-based digital asset platform has inked numerous collaborations in the sports field in recent months.

Last year, in September, the reigning French soccer champion Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) announced a multi-year deal with CryptoCom. As a result, the latter became the team’s first official cryptocurrency partner.

Shortly after, the company stroke another similar collaboration – this time with the American professional basketball team Philadelphia 76ers. Consequently, the club started displaying CryptoCom’s logo on its jersey.

Arguably the most significant milestone, which the trading venue has conquered in the sports industry, happened in November last year. Then, it partnered with the team where the legendary Kobe Bryant spent his entire career – The Los Angeles Lakers. Both parties signed a 20-year naming rights agreement, which saw the AEG-owned and operated Staples Center renamed to CryptoCom Arena.
