CryptoPunk NFT Is Latest Donation to Ukraines 33M Campaign

After the generous donations and support shown by the crypto community to the Ukrainian people, CryptoPunks stepped forward to transfer CryptoPunk #5364 into an Ethereum wallet for the Ukrainian Government.

CryptoPunk #5364 was donated as a part of a donations campaign that has already reached $33 million, which was transferred to the Ukrainian Government.

The NFT fetched a sales price of $31,300 last time it was sold back in February 2021, yet its price has been rising ever since. The chief scientist and Co-Founder of Elliptic Tom Robinson estimated the NFT’s price to be around $200,000 when he mentioned news about this donation.

Meanwhile, a blog that uses machine learning to estimate prices for rare NFTs, known as DeepNFT value, priced this CryptoPunk at $233,000. Donations for Ukraine are being raised from all around the world, while the donations are reaching a large number.

The Ukrainian crypto exchange founder Michael Chobanian, who is helping the Ministry of Digital Transformation handle donations, mentioned in an interview that $14 million are already spent on military hardware and supplies for civilians, including gas and food.

In other news, the Ukrainian government accepting donations in Ethereum, Polkadot, USDT, and Bitcoin has brought a number of over $10 Million from many donors. These donations are sent to the Ukrainian government formal addresses.

Meanwhile, the world is buzzing about the European Union’s (EU) acceptance of Ukraine’s application for membership. The EU started with the first steps to Ukraine’s membership, while the officials commented:

EU leaders are expected to discuss Ukraine’s prospects at a summit in Paris on March 10-11.

In addition, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said there is still a long path ahead. He added that the people who stand up so bravely for their European values “belong in our European family.”
