Non-fungible tokens (NFT) are becoming one of the most popular personal branding methods for athletes. National Football League (NFL) celebrity – Dez Bryant and his figures have mingled to the mix.
The previous all-pro wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys is using the oracle platform Chainlink to execute “dynamic” NFTs to Personal Corner. Personal Corner is Bryant’s platform inaugurated in assisting athletes in designing virtual brands after a video game insight in 2016.
In an interview, Bryant addressed CoinDesk. He said, “I was relaxing & playing [NBA 2K]. I thought I could easily try my player & my digital clothes, shoes, everything”. He added, “I thought, what if the athletes bestow their fans to own a thing as such. We’ve been on an expedition ever since.”
In this case, based on the player’s performance, the Dynamic NFT sports use Chainlink data feeds to transform their appearance. Hence, if a player crosses a landmark, such as touching down or receiving yards, the NFT could modify it to reflect the progress.
It is not the 1st time a star athlete has adopted the technology adding fineness to the tokens. In June 2021, the National Basketball Association phenom LaMelo Ball tapped Chainlink. This was his debut in the NFT collection launched before his 2021 Rookie.
Dez Bryant Bestows Faith into NFTs
Bryant thinks that active NFTs are eligible for transforming the strategy of the athletes-fans relationship. NFTs provide an attractive medium as compared to static physical collectibles.
Some of the famous personalities holding a partnership in Byrant’s platform are- NFL staples Trevon Diggs, Maxx Crosby, Von Miller, and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown.
In September 2021, the platform’s debut NFT collection, Juggernauts, was released. Until then, the platform had recorded a trading volume of 30.3 ETH (about $92,000 at press time).
