DOS Labs Introduces Gaming Studio Alliance-Focused Subnet Launch

DOS Labs Launches Avalanche Subnet for Gaming Studios Alliance

DOS Labs, a prominent gaming studio boasting over 400k daily active players and a vast network of Web3 game developers, has officially launched its Avalanche Subnet today.

Designed to foster a thriving ecosystem for players and game developers alike, the DOS Labs Subnet offers robust features including an exchange, asset management tools, and more. Notably, game developers on the DOS Subnet will benefit from SDKs (Unity, Unreal, and others) that streamline the integration of Web3 functionalities into games, significantly reducing the barriers to creating Web3-enabled games.

A consortium of gaming studios has already begun developing the next generation of Web3 games on this Subnet. DOS Labs has established the Vietnam Game Developer Association in collaboration with 11 studios and publishers, including Heroes & Empires, Suga, and Imba Games, all committed to launching games on the DOS Subnet.

  • MetaDOS, a groundbreaking Battle Royale game, is set to debut on the Subnet in June. Players will engage in battles with up to 200 participants per match, with a unique twist: the “Time-as-currency” concept. Each player starts with a limited amount of Time and must acquire more during gameplay to avoid elimination and earn rewards.
  • MetaDOS will feature characters and narratives from upcoming games by alliance members, enhancing the game’s depth and engagement.

Anh Le, co-founder of DOS Labs, emphasized the rationale behind choosing Avalanche, stating, “Our primary mission is to simplify the onboarding of Web2 players into Web3 gaming. Currently, the process involves over 20 steps, which we aim to reduce to just 3. We believe strongly in Avalanche’s long-term potential and the benefits it offers to both developers and players within our ecosystem. MetaDOS and Heroes & Empires will pioneer this initiative on the DOS Subnet.”

Ed Chang, head of gaming at Ava Labs, expressed optimism about the Subnet’s potential, remarking, “This initiative represents a unique opportunity for DOS Labs and the Vietnam Game Developer Association to establish a comprehensive gaming platform with unprecedented revenue streams and partnership opportunities.”
