Jelurida will soon collaborate with Accenture to develop a range of blockchain-based solutions for Correos and the European Union (EU).
Blockchain’s core characteristics include decentralization, transparency, security, immutability, and automation. All of these features can be applied to a wide range of industries, thus serving a multitude of use cases for businesses, governments, and individuals alike.
While there are several blockchain networks that are working towards bridging the gap between on-chain data and real-world applications, Switzerland-based blockchain development firm, Jelurida, has raced ahead of other players by building an infrastructure that is designed to overcome problems of legacy blockchains while facilitating a range of real-world use cases.
Through its unique parent-child chain architecture and energy-efficient consensus mechanism, delivered via the Ardor, Ignis, and NXT blockchains, Jelurida allows everyone to harness the power of blockchain in their traditional business models. The platform has successfully developed several gamification projects for the Austrian government, including a reward-based program for cycling called Cycle4Value and a recycling project to generate heat from waste energy called HotCity. Jelurida is also behind TreeCycle, the project that aspires to implement sustainable and profitable reforestation in Paraguay.
Blockchain’s Potential of Supporting Real-World Use Cases
Adding to its list of milestones, Jelurida will soon collaborate with Accenture to develop a range of blockchain-based solutions for Correos and the European Union (EU). At the recently concluded fourth edition of El Confidencial, Jelurida and Accenture won the public tender from Correos to launch Senator, a blockchain-based project that will integrate stakeholders in urban freight logistics.
The EU and Correos’ had a long list of technical requirements, including the need for a public platform with more than 1000 nodes, multichain operability, customization, hybrid permissioning feature, low power consumption, and proof-of-stake, among others. Jelurida’s Ardor blockchain met 100% of all of these requirements. Not only is it an open-source multichain platform, but it also offers unmatched customization, energy and cost efficiency, and security. As a result, Jelurida will collaborate with a leading technology company, Accenture, which also won the public tender for Correos, to build the Senator project.
The EU-funded Senator project aims to create governance schemes on user demand planning, transport planning, freight and logistics planning, and urban infrastructures. In other words, it aims to optimize the efficiency of urban planning. With Jelurida and Accenture’s collaboration, the EU aims to develop a new urban logistics model based on end-users, transport, logistics, and infrastructure and will increase citizen participation in urban planning.
Initially, Jelurida and Accenture will work together to build the necessary infrastructure that will facilitate two use cases that have been mutually agreed upon by the members of the EU and Correos teams. This includes solutions for supply chain traceability and data management.
For the supply chain traceability application, Jelurida’s Ardor blockchain will offer the infrastructure and the customization required to ensure that the last mile freight exchange is aligned with the European Security Framework for Postal Supply Chains. The Ardor platform will also allow transport operators and other key players to securely exchange information regarding security and item flow optimization.
And for the data management feature, Ardor will enable integration with IoT devices to ensure that all data stays secure and fully accessible to the participants of the Senator project and the members of the EU and Correos. Using Ardor’s blockchain infrastructure, Senator and its participants will harness the data collected at each stage from the IoT devices in their decision-making process.
Other than this, Jelurida and Accenture’s collaboration will extend further as the EU aims to explore more blockchain-based solutions for other potential use cases such as intelligent transactions and trustless automation.
This collaboration between Jelurida and Accenture serves as an example for others to follow and sets the stage for more strategic tie-ups to spur a broader range of real-world blockchain applications. Bringing together different entities with specific knowledge facilitates use cases that benefit citizens and governments alike.
