The latest announcement by Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Chiliz and Socios.com, confirms that Socios has sealed a four-year deal with the Argentine Football Association to continue as an exclusive provider of the official $ARG Fan Token. This means fans will be an opportunity to engage and be rewarded on the Socios.com platform. According to reports, fans would be able to access VIP experiences, merchandise, discounts, voting in polls, and other exclusive offers and benefits. As part of the deal, both parties would work together to come up with exciting programs for fans’ engagement in the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022, Copa América in 2024, and the FIFA World Cup in 2026.
The agreement is said to be strategic with Lionel Messi who is recognized as one of the all-time greatest players being an Argentine and a global ambassador for Socios.com.
“As strategic partners, we’ll work continuously with AFA to create new ways for fans to engage and be rewarded through $ARG Fan Tokens. We’re excited by all the possibilities on the horizon, starting with this year’s FIFA World Cup, and look forward to building a vibrant, connected community for all Argentina fans on Socios.com,” said Dreyfus.
Socios.com remains the first company to reward fans with NFTs focused on major sporting organizations.
According to Claudio Tapia, President of AFA, the partnership will strengthen their sporting project and boost their brand’s presence in the global market.
“We are very pleased to announce the continuity and extension of our commercial agreement with Socios.com. It is important for our Association to continue generating digital income, as in this case the $ARG Fan Tokens, which also allow us to be close to the fans of the National Team around the world,” said Tapia.
The AFA earlier this year signed a five-year sponsorship deal with Binance. However, Chiliz accused the Football Association of breaching their three years contract. Argentina is one of the huge adopters of crypto. As of August, the country had annual inflation of 64% and is predicted to hit 90% by the end of the year. For this reason, locals have found an interest in exchanging their Pesos for Bitcoin, US. Dollar, etc.
In order to hijack customers who make such purchases or swap and trade in any supported assets on platforms like Binance, Quantum AI, etc, the first and the second largest banks in the country, Banco Galicia, and Brubank have announced to allow the selling and buying of cryptos on their platform.
