Details of the incident were outlined in a post by the San Francisco Police Department on April 4. Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at approximately 2:35 am local time, where they found a “43-year-old adult male victim suffering from apparent stab wounds.” Despite efforts by first responders and medical personnel, Lee was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and eventually succumbed to his injuries.
The news of Lee’s passing was confirmed by Jack Dorsey, co-founder and CEO of Square, on the decentralized social media platform Nostr, according to a screenshot shared on Twitter. Lee was reportedly a good friend of former UFC fighter Jake Shields, who also tweeted about the incident, saying that Lee was attacked in one of the “good” neighborhoods of San Francisco.
