The Global Esports Federation, a not-for-profit organization has launched the GEF Metaverse Council, a new body that will help pursue inclusive metaverse-linked opportunities for all members of the organizations. As contained in a press release shared with Coinspeaker, the new metaverse council will aid in convening thought leaders and creators pioneering the Web3.0 ecosystem.
E-sports is a very prominent offshoot of gaming through which gamers play online to win unique rewards. The establishment of the GEF Metaverse Council is centered on harnessing the tangible developments in the emerging world and making it benefit the members of the council.
“We’ve established the GEF Metaverse Council to cultivate ideas, voice, and shape to our metaverse reality; and to access the limitless opportunities for our entire #worldconnected community, said Paul J. Foster, CEO of the GEF.
The GEF Metaverse Council will be chaired by Hugo Philion, the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Flare Network, a protocol that enables secure interoperability between chains, scaling the use of blockchain by enabling all digital assets and on-chain information to flow freely. Flare Network is GEF’s Global Partner for Blockchain Ecosystems. Melvin Kuek, Senior Advisor of the GEF, has also been appointed Vice-Chair of the new organization.

The Global Esports Federation (GEF) metaverse council took off on a very right footing as it has onboarded quite a number of prominent figures in the space.
Per the release shared with Coinspeaker, some of the members of the new organization include Oxskellymode, NFT influencer and co-founder of Enigma Ventures; Sabertooth, director of Tiger Vision Global Pty Ltd and founder of the Non-Fungible Token (NFT) project Attack Tigers!; Melty Tanti, founder and creative director of Play & Earn (P&E) metaverse project Jambo Mambo; and MingWeiRocks, one of Asia’s top TikTok creators with over 22 million followers.
