Guide to Participating in the Fantom Crowdsale

Your ETH Address Requirements

Your ETH Address MUST be an ERC-20 compatible wallet. Do not send from an exchange or smart contract. Failure to do so may result in token loss.

Please contribute ONLY to the address linked to on the Fantom Foundation website (fantom.foundation). The text “address” will link to the Crowdsale contract address and source code on Etherscan. THIS IS THE ONLY OFFICIAL FANTOM FOUNDATION WEBSITE.

FANTOM WILL NEVER POST AN ETH ADDRESS ANYWHERE ELSE (except here). TELEGRAM ADMINS, EMAILS, OR OTHER MESSAGES PURPORTING TO SHOW THE CROWDSALE CONTRACT ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED.

Crowdsale Details

  • Crowdsale commences 15 June 2018, 9am GMT + 0.
  • Only whitelisted addresses from participants who have passed AML/KYC and have their ETH addresses inside the Crowdsale contract will be able to participate. To check if your ETH address has been whitelisted, please check this guide here.
  • The contribution cap for each whitelisted address is 1.692294656 ETH in the first 24 hours. The minimum contribution is 0.2 ETH. After 24 hours, the contribution cap is lifted.
  • The Crowdsale will conclude when all FTM tokens are sold, or after 22 June 2018, 9am GMT + 0, whichever occurs first.
  • Unsold tokens will not be issued, which will simply reduce the total supply.
  • Tokens will be locked until they are unlocked at FANTOM’s discretion.

Transaction Guidelines

To contribute, please send a transaction to the Crowdsale contract address from 15 June 2018, 9am GMT + 0 using any Ethereum wallet client you like.

Examples include: MyEtherWallet (MEW), Parity, Mist and Metamask.

We recommend you set the following parameters accordingly:

  • Recommended gas limit: 200,000 (sending less gas may result in a failed transaction).
  • Gas price: During the first 24 hours, submitting a transaction with a reasonable gas price should ensure the transaction gets through. After the cap is lifted, please refer to ethgasstation.info for an appropriate gas price to set.

Note that if you send a transaction earlier than the specified time, it will be rejected by the smart contract and your ETH will be refunded, minus any gas costs.

The link to the address for the Fantom Crowdsale contract will be posted on fantom.foundation. Please ensure beforehand that you check an address in Etherscan to ensure it has exactly the same verified contract code present on FANTOM’s Github repo.

  1. Go to myetherwallet.com. Make sure the URL is correct and MEW has not been compromised.
  2. Click on “Send Ether & Tokens”
  3. Unlock Your Crowdsale whitelisted wallet by selecting the options above.
  4. Select your Gas Price (Gwei)
