Hopkin’s collection was developed to give admirers and collectors a way to visually appreciate the actor’s diverse professional experiences.
Popular Hollywood actor, Sir Anthony Hopkins, is set to launch his first NFT collection after partnering with Orange Comet, an art and entertainment company focusing on NFT minting and promotion services.
According to Orange Comet, this will be the first batch of a three-day NFT series dubbed “The Eternal Collection,” where collectors will have access to more than 1,000 exclusive pictures of the actor based on several archetypes during this time.
Dave Broome, CEO of Orange Comet, revealed that the collection will debut on OpenSea in the middle of September and will feature 10 of Hopkins’ most relevant character archetypes, including Hannibal Lecter in “Silence of the Lambs” and Odin from Marvel’s “Thor.”
The actor will greet attendees during a welcoming ceremony and lunch on the first day of the auction and will gift each attendee an autographed Hopkins art book.
On the third day, 1,000 original artworks will be put up for sale, and 39 signed Hopkins art books will be given away at random to purchasers who want a close-up look at his poems and other works.
Additionally, five customers will be chosen to participate in a video call with the actor over Discord.
Broome added that it was difficult to produce a collection that embodied all the art that Anthony Hopkins has created throughout his career. Hopkin’s collection was developed to give admirers and collectors a way to visually appreciate the actor’s diverse professional experiences.
“These are high pedigree projects, and opportunities that will always sustain no matter what, and that’s what we expect here. We think it’s great timing actually because of the appetite for something of this high fidelity with this kind of iconic talent.
This is about IP, art, and brands, and taking Anthony Hopkins as both an artist and a brand to the world,” Broome stated.
Hopkins is not new to the NFT space as the Oscar-winning actor, earlier this year, released his Zero Contact film as an NFT on Vuele, a Web3 creative studio platform that allows the viewing and collecting of limited-edition feature films and NFTs.
The actor even reportedly contacted Snoop Dogg, another Hollywood celebrity who has been an avid investor in the NFT industry, for some advice before making his first purchases.
“NFTs are a blank canvas to create art in a new format,” Hopkins stated in an interview. The actor emphasized that, regardless of age, NFTs enable reciprocal sharing of artistic inspiration with others.
“I’m probably the oldest guy in the NFT community and on social media, which proves all is possible at any age,” he added.
