- Actor Keanu Reeves was interviewed by The Verge.
- Reeves shares his opinion about NFTs, meta-universes, and Cryptos.
- There are 100,000 NFTs created for the Matrix Resurrection.
During the interview by The Verge, actor Keanu Reeves said he holds some cryptocurrencies. However, he is not a supporter of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and metaverses created by tech corporations like Meta.
The actor said:
Can’t we just prevent the metaverse from looking like the one invented by Facebook? The very concept of the metaverse is much older than the idea of Meta, and the virtual world, led by a big-tech company, looks more like a dystopia.
He added that he has nothing against the Mark Zuckerberg corporation.
On the other hand, Keanu was asked if he heard about the Matrix NFT that was performed in The Matrix Resurrections. In detail, there were 100,000 NFTs created for the latest movie and the website broke in a couple of hours with 300,000+ people waiting in the line to get their entire Matrix NFT for $50.
The Verge asked the question: “Keanu when you think about the concept of digital scarcity and things that are? Keanu responds quickly, saying: “that is easily reproduced while laughing” and it was freaking beautiful.
