Legacy League has released the “Black Girl Magic” NFT collection to commemorate the golden jubilee of Title IX. Derrian Gobourne, an Auburn gymnast and 2019 National Champion, made BGM a reality. The BGM Collection is being sold in conjunction with the first NIL Summit in June, where Gobourne is nominated for two awards: College Athlete Innovator of the Year and Best Crypto Award.

“I am excited to launch my Black Girl Magic NFT Collection on the Legacy League platform. Not only do their values align with mine, but there is also no better time to do it. It’s time to celebrate, congratulate and pay honor and tribute to all of my sisters who have given so much to this sport and I want the world to see them,” the 22-year-old “Queen of the Floor” stated.

Legacy League enables athletes to create and design their own brand and personal “IP” (Intellectual Property rights/logos, etc.). The Legacy League model allows college players to engage in all NIL ecosystems to maximize their brand value. BGM is a great illustration of this strategy. The collection is an excellent method to encourage and inspire young gymnasts to embrace their beauty and culture while pursuing their aspirations.

However, the BGM initiative is about more than just gymnastics. It’s about Title IX, gender equity, and recognizing great black female athletes who can serve as role models for female athletes of all sports and ethnicities. Derrian Gobourne, Aria Brusch, Ananda Brown (Auburn); Sekai Wright (UCLA); Hannah Joyner (Rutgers); Amari Celestine (Missouri); and Gabrielle Stephen are among the seven best, outstanding collegiate gymnasts in this collection (Michigan State). These great gymnasts have all won National championships in their routines.

Aria Brusch, an ALL-SEC Auburn gymnast in 2022, remarked, “This collection is an ideal way for me to use my NIL with NFTs while recognizing other strong black female gymnasts within the NCAA. We want to inspire and motivate young gymnasts to embrace their beauty and culture and pursue their dreams.”

Legacy League is offering a limited-edition VIP Pass as part of the campaign, which will provide customers early access to one-of-a-kind experiences and future BGM NFTs. The VIP Passes will be accessible till June 30th and will offer special bonuses such as training videos, zoom sessions, and one-of-a-kind collectibles with selected gymnasts. The plus side is that NFT buyers will get unique access to the community.

“At a time when female student-athletes lag behind their male counterparts in the NIL ecosystem, we are excited to partner with these seven elite female athletes,” stated Legacy League President and co-founder Kurt Hallead. “Our mission is to level the playing field by providing every college athlete an easy and effortless way to maximize their income and leverage their brand with NFTs.”

Legacy League has designed collections for players from almost 60 NCAA Division I institutions, 29 conferences, and 16 sports. Female athletes make up more than 35% of the Legacy League roster.
