Metaverse Music Festival: Decentraland and sponsor Kraken are putting on the second Metaverse Music Festival. There will be 15 stages with 100+ artists from all music genres.

Decentraland, launched in 2020, is a virtual social world. It is powered by the Ethereum blockchain and claims to be the first decentralized metaverse.

The Metaverse is holding a Metaverse Music Festival (MVMF). This is the second year of the festival, and it has 100 confirmed artists. The event is free for all to attend. There is no VR, ticket or headset needed.

This time last year, Decentraland say that 50,000 unique attendees turned up online to the first MVMF.

Personalities who performed included Deadmau5, 3LAU, Paris Hilton, RAC, and Alison Wonderland.

Major artists have been getting on the Metaverse bandwagon. These include Jason Derulo and Grimes. And, at the 2022 VMA’s MTV announced a new metaverse category 2022 VMAs.

The festival this year will be set in a cyberpunk city of the future. The centerpiece is the Tower of Babel stage.

Artists of 2022 include the global touring metal festival OZZFEST. It launched the careers of bands including Slipknot, System of a Down, Incubus, and many others. Ozzy Osbourne himself will also be performing in Decentraland in 2022.

Decentraland will have new experiences, like the Portaloo experience. Ew. Also, one called Follow the Rabbit, another is the Take the Blue Pill experience.

On one of the 15 stages, LimeWire will host artists of their choice. Limewire was a former peer-to-peer file-sharing platform that was used to share pirated music between friends. It has now been relaunched as an NFT marketplace.

The LimeWire Originals NFT collection (at $199 each) will get the buyer access to a VIP area that has the best views of the stage.

Marcus Feistl is the LimeWire COO. “The LimeWire main stage will be a unique experience for festival goers, including avatar performances from some of our headline artists, unreleased video content, limited edition LimeWire NFT wearables, and live music-NFT drops.”

Limewire says the Metaverse festival will offer listeners experiences that are only possible in a virtual environment. “With the use of Decentraland’s distinctive Emotes feature, LimeWire will be able to give the attendees personalized motions and gestures that make their avatar come to life. This feature will also play a major role in how festival attendees can enjoy the event by dancing and expressing themselves.”

The festival will run from November 10th to the 13th. Register here.
