The new Netflix documentary about a crypto swindler has sparked wild reactions from the community.
Netflix, the popular streaming service, has released a documentary titled “ Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King” on Wednesday 30 March 2022. The documentary is based on the questionable circumstances surrounding the death of the now-defunct founder of the cryptocurrency exchange, QuadrigaCX.
The motive behind the documentary is to try and give the community some clarification surrounding the mystery around the high-profile crypto case that is still puzzling people to this day.
It was originally believed that the QuadrigaCX founder died while traveling to India. The founder had also taken with him the keys to a number of cryptocurrency wallets. Official reports speculate that the estimated collective total of these wallets is approximately worth $250 million.
The investigators in the documentary try to find answers to investor’s questions as many believed that there was more to the death of the founder than meets the eye. The documentary also aims to unravel various conspiracy theories regarding the mysterious disappearance of the founder.
One of the most prominent theories revolves around the belief that the founder tried to fake his death in order to get away with millions of dollars of users’ money. It was also believed that the founder used Crohn’s disease as a way to explain his death, but one user later debunked this theory on twitter by stating that Crohn’s disease rarely leads to a person’s death.
Some users suspected trouble and were lucky enough to cash out their funds just in time.
