- A new free-to-play game from G4AL with stellar graphics is reported to be launched soon.
- Manel Sort, CEO of G4AL, is the mastermind behind this soon-to-be-launched game.
- The game will be a different kind of Elemental Raiders, another free-to-play game.
Manel Sort, CEO and co-founder of Games for a Living (G4AL), is reportedly working on a new free-to-play game that focuses on stellar graphics and engaging narratives. In detail, the game will be in the form of Elemental Raiders, a free-to-play turn-based PvP and PvE game. The transactions for the new game’s in-game asset will be built on the G4AL private blockchain.
Speaking about the free-to-play concept, Sort, who is also one of the pioneers behind Candy Crush, remarked:
Lowering the entry barrier in terms of cost was one of the things that expanded the global gaming audience beyond its previous limits. Free-to-play developers had initially hoped to appeal to a core gaming audience, but by removing initial buy-in costs we ended up attracting people who would never otherwise have played games.
Sort further added that providing enjoyable base games with additional in-game purchases brings in more game lovers. Also, the ongoing revenue generated by in-app purchases gives developers ongoing funding to develop new features and update the game over time.
Reports claim that free-to-play games make up the top three most-played games of all time. On mobile phones, where free-to-play games with in-game purchases truly flourished, the model’s popularity is even more pronounced, with games like PUBG Mobile boasting1.1 billion downloads after launching in 2018.
