Polygon and 5 others selected for 2022 Disney Accelerator Program
Disney Accelerator is a business development program for accelerating the growth of innovative companies globally. Polygon is participating in this year’s Disney Accelerator along with Web3 social app Flickplay and web3 platform Lockerverse. Other companies selected to participate are Inworld, Obsess, and AR company Red 6. Looking forward, Disney promises to continue to work with companies like Polygon and others in the coming years. In addition, the company says it will continually develop new technologies to connect physical, digital, and virtual experiences.
During the 2022 Disney Accelerator Program, Polygon, and other participants will get guidance from Disney’s senior leadership team. Also, each participant company will receive guidance from a dedicated executive mentor. The entire event will end with a Demo Day. The Demo Day will happen at The Walt Disney Studios lot in Burbank, California, in the fall.
General Manager, Bonnie Rosen, explained:
For nearly a century, Disney has been at the forefront of leveraging technology to build the entertainment experiences of the future. The Disney Accelerator is thrilled to be part of that legacy, and with our newest class of companies, we look forward to furthering our commitment to innovation and continuing to bring magical experiences to Disney audiences and guests for the next 100 years.
Additionally, the participants will receive investment capital and access to co-working space at the creative campus in LA. Polygon Studios CEO Ryann Watt boasted on Twitter that the company was the only selected blockchain. He added that the opportunity “speaks volumes” to Polygon’s work and where the company is going.
Polygon continues to evolve
Apart from being the only blockchain that will participate in the 2022 Disney Accelerator program, Polygon is also a blockchain project in other areas. The company’s native token, MATIC, is currently up 11.31% in the last 24 hours, trading at $0.6245. Polygon continues to expand and unveil new projects. Earlier this month, the company announced its partnership with phone maker Nothing to bring web3 technology to mobile users. The protocol has been working with Nothing for months concerning the evolution of the project. Furthermore, Polygon onboarded more than 48 projects exiting the Terra ecosystem since the latter crashed.
