According to a statement posted on the company’s blog on July 20, Bundle clarified that its exchange services would cease operations due to the shareholders’ strategic decision to concentrate on Cashlink.

Embracing Web3 and Blockchain Growth

Bundle explained in the statement that the decision by its shareholders is in response to the remarkable growth of the Web3 and blockchain community. It aims to cater to the ecosystem’s needs by emphasizing payment solutions aligned with the latest developments in the blockchain space.

Changes for Bundle Users

As part of the transition, users of Bundle will no longer be able to:

  • Sign up to Bundle
  • Deposit assets into their Bundle wallet
  • Swap assets in their Bundle wallet (except for Tether USDT $1.00)
  • Withdraw with Cashlink without Nigerian naira or other fiat on Bundle

Withdrawal Deadline and Guidelines

Bundle users are advised to withdraw their assets from the app before September 12, 2023. The company has specified the steps required for successful withdrawals for users in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and other francophone-speaking countries:

Nigerian Users:

  • Withdraw naira using Cashlink
  • Transfer funds to their bank account through P2P express
  • If their balance is less than $10, they can use the provided link to withdraw.

Users in Ghana, Kenya, and Francophone-Speaking Countries:

They can withdraw their funds from Bundle to any preferred exchange.

LazerPay’s Previous Closure

In a related development, in April, Nigerian crypto payment startup LazerPay ceased operations and made its intellectual property available for sale.
