Puma has also racked up a collaboration with Catblox for an NFT collection.
Major sports brand Puma has purchased the ENS domain name for its NFT Collection. The company revealed this by changing its Twitter handle to Puma.eth.
Unlike Adidas and Nike, this was Puma’s first concrete move into the world of web3 projects. Earlier in December, Nike made its own entry by acquiring virtual sneakers brand RTFKT to launch NFT assets. By January, Adidas followed in line, announcing a partnership with BAYC, GMoney and Punk Comics for the Adidas Originals.
Late, Not Slow
Puma may have been too slow to jump on board but their progress isn’t. Since revealing the .eth name on Twitter, Puma has jumped to 13th on the list of most-followed Twitter accounts with .eth names. Paris Hilton and Shaquille O’Neal top the Eth leaderboard with their massive following.
Other major brands with ENS domain names are Budweiser, a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev, which bought Beer.eth through ENS on OpenSea for 30 ETH last year. White Castle also registered whitecastleofficial.eth.
The ENS is not Puma’s only move when it comes to NFTs. So far, the Puma wallet has acquired 18 NFTs, all from feline-themed collections. The company acquired the Gutter Cat #1110 for 7.25 ETH and a Cool Cat #32 for 14 ETH. Also, the firm acquired lazy Lion #4609 for 2.5 ETH from its previous owner. The company wallet also includes a Kuddle Koala NFT.
