Q1: Now to start the AMA, please have a quick introduction to the community. What is PupPunks all about?
Neothon: PupPunks is a limited edition collection of 5555, hand-drawn NFTs – unique digital collectibles living on the Fantom chain. Your PupPunk makes you one of the exclusive members of the Pup ecosystem and provides opportunities to explore our Play To Earn utilities. ☺️
Q2: Can you tell us a bit about the team and their experience with crypto projects?
Neothon: Yes! So I am Neothon. I have been developing and running a business for many years now and started exploring blockchain in 2021. It’s been a great pleasure to develop PupPunks along with @PolyPupDev and seeing our main product FarmScan grow as a product.
@PolyPupDev started building in the crypto space back in 2017 for a project that created the first production bridge transferring tokens from a side chain to Ethereum Mainnet. Now these bridges are being used by thousands of users daily on every side chain out there. He is also the brains behind FarmScan and has the vision to change DeFi and make it safer.
Q3: Can you walk us through the uniqueness of PupPunks?
Neothon: PupPunks are like every other NFTs but we are very focused on providing great utilities to them. They are ERC721 tokens, with a max supply of 5555. This means that each and every PupPunk is unique and there can only be 5555 PupPunks on the Fantom chain. These act as a membership to the Pup club and allow many opportunities to collect rare NFTs and even participate in play-to-earn games.
Q4: How are the PupPunks NFT artwork made? How does the rarity work?
Neothon: Actually, a lot of hardwork went into the entire PupPunks project.
Each breed and accessory of PupPunk is entirely handmade. Then they are algorithmically generated into 5555 unique, cute PupPunks, from a possibility of over a million variations. The algorithm ensures that some accessories and breeds are used less compared to the others, during the generation of the NFTs.
This adds rarity to the attributes. For example, a blue-faced Pup is present in only 0.74% of the total 5555 PupPunks whereas a brown-faced pup is present in 24.68% of the Pups. So this makes the blue-faced pup rarer.
When all these attributes and breeds are combined together to create the PupPunk NFT, our algorithm calculates a rarity score and assigns a rarity rank to these. These can be explored in our Rarity Explorer tool as well.
A lot of work went into creating our product website as well where most of the new utilities are going to come as well. 🙂
Q5: What is the pat button and how does the Dog Show work?
Neothon: The pat button is something which was never done before in the NFT space. The pat is just a virtual representation of how you will pat a pup in the real world or show them that you love them.
Any person can come and pat the pups on our product site. Each pat is stored on the blockchain too and lives forever. The pats will also be used in future games.
The Dog Show is the first social contest we introduced. It is the first use case of how pats are used as well. Once the contest starts, the goal of the participants is to get as many pats as they can from people. The pup with the highest number of pats during the contest wins. There is a nominal fpup (our farm token) entry fee, 20% is burned and the rest is added to the pool prize 🙂
Q6: How does Fantom Pup token work with PupPunks?
Neothon: After 4 successful layers on Polygon, Fantom Pup is our yield farm on the Fantom chain. It is closely tied to our main product FarmScan and as well as PupPunks. Revenue from FarmScan will buyback and burn the fpup token.
The mint revenue from PupPunks will be used to buy back and burn fpup tokens as well.
The fpup token is also being used in the existing play to earn games like lottery and dog show.

Q7: What are the project goals? Can you share with us your roadmap in the next 6 months?
Neothon: The goal behind PupPunk is to make rare NFTs with some fun utilities. We have completed the roadmap till Pup Lottery. The next one on the roadmap is the Pup Agility game, which is a play-to-earn, platform runner game. Each person can participate with a PupPunk which will represent the ingame avatar as well. Pats and rarity will provide extra benefits. I am pretty excited about this.
After this, the next feature is Dog Park, an exclusive members area and followed by Pee Art. This is again something never done before and we are looking at converting NFT collectors into NFT creators 🙂
