Renowned photographer Peter Badge has been collecting the portraits of Nobel laureates since 2000. He has also collected portraits of leading scientists, politicians, artists, actors, men on the moon, musicians, and philanthropists.

To further bring his work into the metaverse, Badge is partnering with Acemeta, a virtual mall for avatars in the metaverse to make his collections available to digital collectors as NFTs.

The photographs to be used in the collaboration are mainly portraits of Nobel laureates. The first hero drop in the collection titled “Illogical logic” will be minted on 3 May 2022.

The World Heroes project

Peter Badge started his quest to photograph all living Nobel laureates in the year 2000. German-born Badge embarked on a journey that took him around the world to accomplish this feat, the project was then commissioned by some renowned organizations, including the Deutsches Museum in Bonn, the Smithsonian Institution, the National Museum of American History, and the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.,

His partners, the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings and the Foundation Lindau Nobel Laureates Meetings at Lake Constance also endorsed the project, and he went on to collect over 400 pictures of Nobel laureates.

Unlike other photographers’ work, Badge’s photographs captured a “more personal side of the laureates’ impressive personalities.” Through his work, collectors can have a connection with the individual personalities of laureates such as Nelson Mandela, John Nash, Rita Levi-Montalcini, and Oska Sala.

Commenting on Badge’s work, former director of the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery, Marc Pachter said:

“Peter Badge] doesn’t do icons, he uses the phrase World Heroes because they are Heroes, but he is really interested in their humanity and that’s what we love and he makes us believe that we might even participate in the humanity of this great person that they are not so distant from us. Peter is one of the few people that can achieve that.”

The World Heroes NFT Collection will feature a series of digital art NFTs that combines creative utility and mechanics for each hero that can only be revealed through art.

“MetaMall” – the first mall in the Metaverse

The Ace Meta Company (TAMc) is a company set up to “build and operate a culturally inclusive virtual mall in the Metaverse (AceMall).” The company supports those less fortunate, who cannot afford to develop their talents by creating a space for creators. It will also be the de facto virtual mall where avatars can shop for accessories in the metaverse, with three main components:

  1. A community that guarantees members true autonomy of their virtual and gives them equal chance to succeed
  2. An immersive platform that allows creators to sell their assets within the metaverse.
  3. A technology backed by NFT that will support the trading of assets within the AceMall. This will support cross-platform usage and will give a fully immersive retail experience.

AceMall will be collaborating with many more projects after Peter Badge that will bring millions of digital items on the platform as tokenized items on the NFT platform and collectors will be able to move them between several metaverses.
