- Snoop Dogg and Champ Medici set plans to grow digital weed in the metaverse.
- The play-to-earn game, Mobland, is set to be the used space.
- Snoop comments on the partnership.
Rapper and music producer Snoop Dogg partnered with Mobland, a mafia-themed metaverse, to bring weed farms into the virtual space. In addition to the limited collection of Snoop Dogg branded digital weed, some exclusive content from Champ Medici will also be available.
Talking about the partnership, crypto investor Champ Medici said the project is a “no brainer.” “I saw my father play video games my whole life. Cannabis and game controllers live hand in hand with him,” recounted Medici. “That’s why I think it’s no brainer to bring the metaverse and digital weed together.“
Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg stated:
If it’s flipping hamburgers at McDonald’s, be the best hamburger flipper in the world. Whatever it is you do you have to master your craft. I have been mastering my craft for decades. My son showed me the importance of collaboration with MOBLAND to introduce the first-ever digital weed farms as NFTs. There is a paradigm shift happening here and I want to be at the forefront of this.
Co-founder of Mobland, Roy Liu, also commented:
We are super pumped to pioneer with the legendary Snoop Dogg by bringing digital cannabis and mass adoption to the metaverse and GameFi 2.0. We are looking for more ways to give back to the cannabis community. More news to be announced on Mobland and ChampMedici’s social media.
Liu also added, “NFT 1.0 is about individual character and item, NFT 2.0 is about land and real estate, [and] NFT 3.0 is about business and utility on top of the land and real estate.”
Mobland is now the first-ever Mafia metaverse, also regarded as the crypto version of the video game Mafia Wars, backed by many great celebrities, such as Justin Kan, co-founder of Twitch, Do Kwon, co-founder of Terra, Kieran Warwick, co-founder of Illuvium, Santiago R Santos, ex-partner of Parafi Capital, and leading VCs Animoca Brands and Spartan Group.
The game is developed by a team of industry experts from Disney, Ubisoft, Roblox, EA, Gameloft, Google, Yahoo, and Twitter. Players can grind in daily events, PvE, PvP, and Syndicate events such as cross-chain tournaments.
