Solana is ready to take the entire ecosystem to a whole new level with launches and remarkable unveiling.
Solana made a series of announcements during its annual gathering at Breakpoint 2022 in Lisbon, scheduled for Nov. 5th to Nov. 7th. As the blockchain platform braced up to go mainstream, it announced the launch of smartphones, a partnership with Google Cloud, and web3 stores. Report shows about 13,000 people were in attendance at one of the four venues of the four-day conference. Solana co-founder Raj Gokal and the co-founder of Solana Labs Anatoly Yakovenko were also present at the event.
During the conference, the CEO and founder of Solana Spaces Vibhu Norby, asked attendees to scan QR codes for giveaways. Further into the meeting at Breakpoint 2022, the Solana Spaces CEO revealed the Solana Store in Miami. He presented a short video of people moving around the store, adding that anyone around the world can now build their own Solana Store. The CEO also took some time to explain the process of building a store and unveiled GeoNFTs. GeoNFTs is an implementation of a non-fungible token that lets users geo-tag a location. The ecosystem intends to support solo entrepreneurs interested in the business with GeoNFTs. Norby stated:
“If you have a GeoNFT, you can redeem it 1-for-1 with the exclusive rights to open a Solana store in that region.”
Solana Unveils Smartphone at Breakpoint 2022
Solana is ready to take the entire ecosystem to a whole new level with launches and remarkable unveiling. The mobile team has announced Solana mobile phones “made for the people” with distinguished features. While speaking during the conference at Breakpoint 2022, Solana noted that the mobile phone would be able to securely store the private keys of crypto wallets. Solana will be backed by a Qualcomm chipset sporting an Arm-based SoC to support higher productivity. Cointelegraph posted a demo of the incoming phone on Twitter.
Another significant development mentioned at the Breakpoint 2022 is the Solana decentralized application (dApp) store. According to a spokesperson, there is a need for a better user experience in Web3. As a result, the Solana App Store is here. There would be no revenues, fees, or charges from Solana’s DApp store. Interested participants can begin to turn in their submissions from January next year.
The major highlight of the Solana conference at Breakpoint 2022 is the partnership with Google Cloud. Per the announcement, Google Cloud is developing bloc-producing Solana validators for the network. These validators will participate and validate the network. Beginning next year, Google’s Blockchain Node Engine will feature on the Solana Blockchain. Solana developers will find it easier to access historical data upon the collaboration. This is because Google Cloud will index all data from Salana and bring it to data warehouse BigQuery.
