- TAG Heuer announces its acceptance of crypto payments.
- This is only available on TAG’s US e-commerce website.
- Via a partnership with BitPay, it now supports SHIB, BTC, DOGE, and more.
TAG Heuer joins Gucci, Hubol, Franck Muller, and Norqain in the A-list brands incorporating blockchain technology in its operations. In a press release published on May 19, the Swiss luxury watchmaker rolled out its plans of accepting cryptocurrency as a means of payment via a partnership with BitPay.
According to Frédéric Arnault, the Chief Executive Officer of TAG Heuer, the team has been following crypto developments very closely ever since the start of Bitcoin. He also described the company as an ‘avant-garde watchmaker with an innovative spirit’ that would adopt a globally integrated technology that will transform the industry and beyond.
Moreover, users can shop for TAG Heuer watches online with a maximum purchase capped at $10,000 and no minimum spending requirement. As of now, shopping with crypto is exclusively available through its official website in the US.
Thanks to our partnership with @BitPay, we’re proud to introduce the #cryptocurrency payment on our US website.

In detail, customers need to click on the ‘BitPay’ option when asked for the payment method upon checkout. Here, they will be prompted to choose their preferred currency from a list of cryptos and wallets (including exchanges) available. It is also important to take note that the exchange rates are guaranteed for 15 minutes while the purchase is being processed.
After on-chain confirmation, users will be redirected to TAG Heuer’s website until the transaction is confirmed by both TAG and BitPay.
Meanwhile, the platform currently supports 12 cryptocurrencies—including 5 dollar-pegged stablecoins: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETC), Litecoin (LTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), USDP, DAI, BUSD, GUSD, and USDC.
On the other hand, TAG Heuer’s nod to crypto is deemed to be the first step of its prospective venture into Web3, blockchain, and NFTs. The TAG Heuer CEO further said:
As a luxury brand we had to ensure that our entrance into Web3 would meet our standards of excellence and thanks to our nimble teams in-house and with the support of BitPay we are able to dive into this new financial world in the best way possible.
