Buterin’s Praise for Offchain Labs
In a recent post on X, Buterin echoed Goldfeder’s sentiment, praising Offchain Labs’ commitment to enhancing the Ethereum ecosystem. He highlighted Arbitrum’s wide-ranging applications across various industries, emphasizing its practical value.
Buterin remarked on Arbitrum being one of only two Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) rollups to achieve stage 1 status, underscoring its position as a leading Layer 2 scaling solution. He stated:
“Your technical work has been exemplary, and your achievements (still one of only two stage-1 EVM rollups, and a huge amount of usage across diverse industries) show it.”
Goldfeder’s Vision for Ethereum and Arbitrum
Goldfeder’s initial message, which prompted Buterin’s response, conveyed his confidence in Ethereum and Arbitrum. He believes:
- Ethereum will remain the top Layer 1 network.
- Arbitrum will lead the Layer 2 networks.
This faith is rooted in their robust technology, decentralized architectures, and increasing adoption. Ethereum’s decentralization and security set it apart from other Layer 1 blockchains, while Arbitrum’s scalability and compatibility make it a strong contender among Layer 2 solutions.
Commitment to Ethereum’s Future
In his response to Buterin, Goldfeder emphasized the platform’s dedication to supporting Ethereum’s future objectives. He expressed respect for Buterin’s leadership and excitement about collaborating with Ethereum to make it a core component of the future internet.
Buterin previously pointed out that Arbitrum and Optimism are the only fully stage 1 EVM rollups, while ZK-EVM rollups like Starknet have not yet reached this level of decentralization. He urged developers to prioritize decentralization by the end of 2024.
