The long running lawsuit between the US SEC and Ripple is witnessing a wave of individuals and firms trying to file Amicus Briefs. Ripple is getting the upper hand in the summary judgment phase as most of the applicants for supporting its motions.
XRP lawsuit to see more Amicus Curiae
On Wednesday, Cryptillian Payment Systems LLC asked for court leave to file Amicus Brief in the XRP lawsuit. Cryptillian is an online digital wallet service for retail customers and commercial retail businesses using XRP. However, this firm is also supporting Ripple in the XRP lawsuit.
John Deaton, XRP holders’ lawyer in the case mentioned that XRP is the second most popular crypto utilised with the Cryptillian application.
Eleanor Terrett, a Fox business journalist noted that till now 9 individuals have filed to enter the lawsuit as Amicus Curiae. While 3 have been granted permission by Judge Torres.
Earlier, Coingape reported that US based crypto exchange, Coinbase asked the court to file Amicus Briefs in the XRP lawsuit. The crypto platform is seeking to support motions for Summary Judgement submitted by Ripple.

However, Coinbase was one of the first crypto exchanges to delist and halt trading in Ripple’s XRP after the case was filed by the US SEC.
Early ruling in Summary Judgement?
John Deaton, XRP holders’ lawyer suggested that there might be an early ruling in the summary judgment. However, the XRP community is expecting a decision by November 18, 2022.
Deaton mentioned some crucial dates in the XRP lawsuit. He stated that there will be no ruling by November 18.
