Getty Images Teams Up With Candy Digital In Foray Into NFTs

Getty Images and Candy Digital are joining forces for an NFT collaboration. The two companies announced a partnership agreement making Candy Digital the official and exclusive marketplace featuring Getty Images NFTs.

Getty Images has expanded into digital collectibles and providing immersive experiences for many collectors. The NFTs are set to be minted on Ethereum blockchain and Palm blockchain, an eco-friendly blockchain.

Overall, the British-American visual media company currently has a collection of 465 million images which will focus on transforming rare archival images into NFT collectibles.

NFT sales of Getty Images will be hosted on Candy’s marketplace which has also partnered with WWE, NASCAR, and Major League Baseball.

Craig Peters, CEO of Getty Images is ecstatic and proud of this collaboration as they expand their market offering to NFT collectors on the global scene. This opens doors of opportunities for the popular supplier of stock images and its large community of photographers.

Photographs or images from the last 170 years define and capture history with its large repository of art images coming from the world of entertainment, art, politics, sports, world or current events, culture, and the like.

A lot of the photographs archived by Getty Images are rare photos that have not been exposed to the public eye. These rare collections come from legendary and iconic photographers who pioneered the industry.

As part of the launch, the two companies will reveal these masterpieces together with other standard images that are available in varied digital formats for public viewing and for sale to avid NFT collectors.

First And Secondary Market Transactions

Candy Digital will be supporting the first and secondary market transactions of Getty Images NFT. These artworks can be purchased using crypto or credit card payments.

Both NFT and photography collectors can now sell, trade, swap, and purchase Getty Images NFT collectibles on Candy Digital.

Scott Lawin, Candy Digital CEO, is excited about this step as part of its evolution and sets the stage for them to be known as a global authority in digital art, entertainment, and culture.
