Market News

  • CoinGecko has integrated the security score of cryptocurrencies from CER.live.
  • CER.live is a cybersecurity ranking and certification platform that partnered with CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap.
  • The recent CER.live audit information was integrated in the wake of the TerraUSD and Terra (LUNA) crash.

Prominent crypto data aggregator CoinGecko has integrated the security audit of CER.live for cryptocurrencies. According to information obtained by CoinQuora, this move is to “draw users’ attention to the importance of security.”

To bring the uninitiated up to speed, the Security tab will provide information regarding the code security of a specific cryptocurrency as audited by CER.live.

The Security feature will be available only for cryptocurrencies that CER.live has audited. As per a representative of the company, up to 1,500 cryptocurrencies have already received auditing – only those that have been audited will have this feature.

CoinGecko COO and Founder Bobby Ong remarked:

With the integration of CER 2.0, we hope to improve user awareness of token security and enable all CoinGecko users to make well-informed decisions.

CoinGecko integrated the CER.live rating in light of the “recent panic around the crash of TerraUSD (UST) and Terra (LUNA).” Terraform Labs will relaunch the LUNA blockchain with the genesis block on May 27 and airdrop the new LUNA coins to those who hold LUNA and UST before and after the price collapse.

The representative also said that the industry has yet to eliminate crypto projects that have poor security. In fact, one tweet said that only 18 out of the 1,500 cryptocurrencies that CER.live has audited had a good rating.
